Interview With: NVAZN
Q: How did you get into stickers?
A: How did i get into stickers? Well i used to make slap tags and mini burners as a kid and this time around i just wanted to remain up and seen since I no longer write. I got into graf when i was about 13 always loved the art of manipulating letters and playing with colors . Been drawing and painting since i was 3 but when i discovered graffiti i was all about it. Due to some complications and personal issues i got out of the graf scene and started working more in stickers and wheatpastes. Quick easy ups that usually ride longer in the land of the buff.
Q: Who are your influences?
A: Who are my influences? So many i would say pretty much most of the PDX scene, All the Girls Love Earl,Mr Ramano,Filth Grime, Nite Owl, Trusto Corp and so many more…
Q: Are zombies real?
A: Zombies are absolutely real we are zombies! We have an insatiable appetite for shit we don't need like a zombie eats brains. Doesn't quite matter how much we get we are never satisfied. Aside the fact that you know theres people eating faces out there but let them scare ya!
Q: Where do you getup?
A: S/O's to all the OC scene trying to get up and be seen, trying to keep this scene popping. Shout out to all Glue Squad and a huge thanks to 1503 Street Art for giving me this opportunity.

Q: Are zombies real?

Q: How did you get your name?
A: How did i come up with my name well thats a story. I have always had a love for letters and the way they flowed whether they were smooth and bubbly or jagged and sharp. But back that up in 2009 early 2010 i was slowly getting back into art and stickers on 228's all junk hand drawn shit. And when i saw MIB3 about to be released i started doing some worm guy alien stencils which were really my first stencil. It was a simple 2 layer with a worm guy holding a smoking gun. I was writing stupid shit on em and some say the nvazn is coming & the end is near etc in preparation of the movie being released. Well when i heard about bathsalts and face eating well it just made since i loved the way NVAZN looked sharp invasive jagged and the fact that dangerous synthetic drugs were cutting their way into mainstream drug users lives scared the shit out of me so why not change my name and make what scares me my main motivation. Ive been sober for 11 1/2 years and im telling you had salts been around id of done them and maybe couldve been that growling naked guy chomping on some hobos face shot dead!!
Q: What do you think about the OC Graff / Street Art / Slap scene?
A: The OC scene.... Ah yes the place where I'm from. I think over the last couple years ive seen it change a little. A lot of cats come through but not much on the side of homegrown heroes out here. Its a bummer because when you look at some of the talent living in OC and there are some real gems (graft wise and street art wise) its a shame the buff chases so many to go to LA and surrounding counties or tunnels etc ! want to see it rise and ill continue to do my little part in exterior decorating the boring beige green grey and white walls the best I can.
Q: Who are you down with?
A: Who am i down with.... The people in the ground. I also represent an amazing crew/ collective of international artist know as GLUE SQUAD. We are on every continent minus the poles and Africa at the moment. But that is always subject to change. In a game where some come & go you never know. But my Squad def plays for keeps when we do something. Bigger Better & Bolder seems to happen a lot.
Q: Have you ever seen a UFO?
A: Man oh man have i seen UFO'S I saw one when i was 12 slowly quietly hovering over my house the size of like 4 houses or more across went about a block east then up up & away like a flash of light. LSD was not present…
Q: Boxers or Briefs?
A: Boxers but not just any those white stretched out been worn many times before boxers you get in county!
Q: Favorite food?
A: Brainnnsssssssss!!!!!!
Q: Do you do trades?
A: I do trades from time to time but those are becoming scarce i put a lot of time and money into this expensive hobby. But in person I usually give shit away because the more I'm out there the better.
Q: Whats in the future for NVAZN?
A: I have many projects in the works its always a catch up deal for me I'm spread thin with a 60-70hr work week and family man but never fear new zombies and more are coming!!
Q: Things you hate?
A: People who don't follow the old school ways or rules of graft. Also ignorant or no common sense having assholes.
Q: Anyone you want to colab with?
A: So many some you shall see soon!
Q: What are you listening to when your working?
A: EDM & Hip Hop mostly but very eclectic. And by EDM I don't mean Skrilly or Deadmaus or other mainstream hipster assholes I'm talking Jungle original Dubstep and bass music pioneers!!!
Q: Tell us about StuckUpOC how did it go?
A: I would say it was a raging success anyone who has been to sticker shows or any art show of that magnitude probably knows something like that would of probably been shut down. How we pulled that off with police all over is anyones guess stay tuned for stuckupoc2 in 2016.
A: Where do i get up? oh I don't i just make shit in the morgue otherwise known as the zombie factory.
Q: Are you or have you ever met Justin Bieber?
A: Justin Bieber well some would say that i am justin bieber posing as a street artist named NVAZN the alter ego of the shitty wanna be graf writer & bad boy... Rumors if its not on TMZ then fuck all!
